Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin Appointment of Lois K. Sharpe as a Member.

The President today announced the appointment of Lois K. Sharpe, of Falls Church, Va., as a member of the Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin. She replaces Loretta Nimmerrichter, resigned.

Sharpe, 72, holds a Ph.D. in geology from Northwestern University. She is a member of the Fairfax County Water Authority and a consultant to the National Science Foundation and the Office of Technology Assessment. She is a member of the U.S. Geological Survey's Advisory Committee on Water Data for Public Use.

Sharpe was with the League of Women Voters for 16 years, serving as a staff specialist on water resources and as environmental department coordinator.
