Advisory: First Lady Jill Biden to Host Japan State Dinner Media Preview and Spousal Program Event with Mrs. Kishida Yuko

As part of the Official Visit with Japan, First Lady Jill Biden will host a media preview ahead of the State Dinner and host Mrs. Kishida Yuko, Spouse of Prime Minister Kishida Fumio, for a Spousal Program event.

On Tuesday, April 9th at 5:00 PM ET, First Lady Jill Biden will host a media preview in advance of Wednesday evening's State Dinner. The media preview will include brief remarks from the First Lady and White House Social Secretary Carlos Elizondo, followed by presentations of the menu from White House Executive Chef Cris Comerford and White House Executive Pastry Chef Susie Morrison. Sample place settings for the State Dinner will be on display. This media preview will be pooled for TV and open to pre-credentialed media with limited capacity. On Wednesday, April 10th at 11:00 AM ET, the First Lady will host Mrs. Kishida Yuko for a Spousal Program event with a Japanese American poet and local high school students in the main library of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. The event will highlight the First Lady and Mrs. Kishida's shared interest in youth, education, and literature and celebrate the continuing friendship between the United States and Japan. This event will be covered by a U.S. and Japan press pool.
