On Friday, June 2, to mark National Gun Violence Awareness Day and Wear Orange Weekend, Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff will participate in the Washington Mystics' Wear Orange Youth Basketball Clinic. Founder of Moms Demand Action, Shannon Watts, will also attend.
Participants in the clinic will include D.C. Metro area youth and survivors of gun violence from the TraRon Center and 100 Fathers, two local violence intervention programs focusing on therapeutic arts and raising community consciousness about the impact of gun violence. This clinic will be hosted by the Mystics and Everytown For Gun Safety. This event will be pooled press. Additional details to follow.
