Appointment of Clifford T. Alderman as Special Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Affairs

The President today announced the appointment of Clifford T. Alderman as Special Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Affairs.

Since November 1990, Mr. Alderman has served as Deputy to the Special Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Affairs. Prior to this, he served as Deputy Director of External Affairs in the Office of the Secretary at the U.S. Department of the Interior, 1989 - 90. From 1987 to 1988, Mr. Alderman served as the executive director of the Connecticut Bush-Quayle campaign. From 1985 to 1987, Mr. Alderman served on the field staff of the Fund for America's Future. From 1983 to 1985, Mr. Alderman worked in the political analysis office of the Republican National Committee.

Mr. Alderman graduated from American University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1983. Mr. Alderman was born on April 8, 1961, in Bristol, CT. He currently resides in Alexandria, VA.
