In-town pool 1 - VP and SGOTUS at North Portico

Happy Inauguration Day from the White House, where it's 23 degrees and sunny. Bidens stepped onto portico at 9:15

Biden, when asked how he was feeling , said, "Good, it's a beautiful day."

Vpotus motorcade pulled up at 9:16 and VP Harris and SGOTUS stepped out and up steps for the greeting with the Bidens at 9:16. They posed for photos, turned, and walked inside at 9:17.

We are now awaiting the Trumps, who are across Lafayette Park for church service at St John's.

In-town pool 2- vpotus and sgotus greet Vances

VP and Mr Emhoff stepped onto north portico st 9:32. Vance motorcade pulled in a minute later. JD Vance and Mrs Vance stepped up for handshake . Harris said "congratulations" to the incoming VP, who is wearing dark blue suit, overcoat, and red tie. Mrs Vance is wearing a light pink coat.

Before Vances arrived, Harris was asked how she's feeling about this day, and she said, "this is democracy in action." The two couples posed for photos then walked inside at 9:35.

Note, the visit from the Vances was not on the advance schedule shared with pool.

In-town pool 3 - trumps arrive at WH

The Bidens stepped out onto the North Portico of the WH at 9:54am.

To Biden: what's your message. "Joy"

Trump motorcade pulled up to North Portico at 9:54 am. Trump stepped out of SUV and Biden said "welcome home."

The two presidents did not respond to shouted questions. The couples walked inside at 9:55

In the scene at the North Portico, when the Bidens were waiting for Trumps' arrival, Biden was asked if he wrote a letter to Trump. He said "yes." When asked what he said, Biden said "That's between Trump and me"

Also, in answer to the question about "what's your message today," Biden first said "joy" then paused a bit and said "hope"

In-town pool 5 - motorcade rolling to Capitol

Motorcade with both Bidens and Trumps is rolling to US Capitol from Pennsylvania Ave in front of WH at 10:39 AM.

We in the in-town travel pool loaded into press vans before the two couples exited the WH and entered the motorcade, so we did not have eyes on them.

In-town pool 6- arrival at Capitol

Motorcade arrived at the Capitol after an uneventful ride at 10:47.

Bystanders lined the street behind barricades, some people in Trump and MAGA hats. One person held up a Waffle House sign. Security personnel lined both sides of PA Ave. Motorcade proceeded fairly slowly.
