SAN ANTONIO, TX (September 9, 2019) – Presidential candidate and former Obama Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Mayor of San Antonio, Texas, Julián Castro, will deliver remarks and participate in a moderated discussion with Noticias Telemundo news anchor Jose Diaz-Balart at a presidential forum hosted by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) to discuss top issues affecting the Latinx community including health care, immigration, education and racial equity. This event is part of the CHCI 2019 Leadership Conference.
Secretary Castro is the only Latinx candidate in the 2020 presidential race and is one of only six presidential candidates attending the CHCI forum. Among Latinx voters, Castro holds the second highest favorability rating, according to a nationwide Univision poll conducted in July. Secretary Castro has also received the endorsements of Latino Victory Fund and Latinx representatives from across the country.
