DeSantis Campaign Press Release - In New TV Ad, Iowans Explain Why They Are Backing DeSantis

"He fights, and he knows how to win."

DES MOINES, Iowa — After its previous television ad featured Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds explaining why she supports Ron DeSantis for president, the Ron DeSantis for President campaign today launched a new television ad featuring a group of everyday Iowans following suit. They call DeSantis "drama free, an effective and proven leader;" someone who "fights" and "knows how to win;" and they note that when he "says he's going to do something, he does it."

Part of the campaign's previously announced ad buy in Iowa through Caucus Day, "Iowans for Ron," will air on broadcast and cable television across the state. The ad comes after DeSantis this past Saturday completed his "Full Grassley" 99-county tour of Iowa.

DeSantis has also recently racked up major endorsements in the Hawkeye State from Governor Kim Reynolds, faith leader Bob Vander Plaats, and 42 state legislators, including a recent addition of Barb Kniff McCulla announced earlier today.

BACKGROUND:

• The DeSantis for President campaign initially announced a $2 million ad reservation that was planned to begin in mid-November and last through the January 15 Iowa Caucus. The campaign instead released the first TV ad on November 1st, earlier than expected. More details here.
• Since announcing his candidacy for president, DeSantis:
  • Has completed a 99-county tour and has made over 130 stops across the state.
  • Earned endorsements from 42 state legislators (more than any candidate in the state).
  • Secured historic endorsements from Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds and "Iowa Kingmaker" Bob Vander Plaats.
  • Boasts a historic 42 endorsements from Iowa state legislators - twice as many as Donald Trump.
  • Has a total of 120 county-level chairs supporting him (at least one in each of the state's 99 counties).
  • Has the support from over 100 Iowa faith leaders.
  • Has the support of 26 Iowa sheriffs.
  • Has more than 30,000 Iowans committed to caucus for him.
