Des Moines, IA - Ron DeSantis spoke tonight at the 2023 Thanksgiving FAMiLY Forum hosted by the FAMiLY Leader in Des Moines, Iowa.

DeSantis explained how his faith inspires his strong leadership:

'When you're in this thicket, look to Ephesians chapter six. You want to exercise leadership in face of this type of fire? Put on the full armor of God. That's what you need to do to stand strong, and to do what's right... I think that what I tell people is, you know, I'll be somebody that will get the job done, electorally and all that, but I'll be a leader that you can be proud of. And part of that is, I think that this is an office that George Washington held. The father of our country--he could have been the king of America. He surrendered his sword after the revolution, retired, he was called in to be president. He served two terms and said, 'That's enough. I'm not going to be president for life.' We've had Abraham Lincoln sit in that office. You need to have the better angels of our nature guide us when you're exercising this type of leadership. The President has the ability using the bully pulpit to lift people up. We need that in this country because it's been missing for far too long.'
