The President returned to the White House from Camp David, Md.
June 16
The President met at the White House with:
—Zbigniew Brzezinski, Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs;
—Frank B. Moore, Assistant to the President for Congressional Liaison.
The President greeted the graduating class of the Capitol Hill Page School in the Rose Garden at the White House.
The President went to the Japanese Embassy, where he signed a book expressing condolences at the death of Prime Minister Masayoshi Ohira.
June 17
The President met at the White House with:
—Dr. Brzezinski;
—Mr. Moore;
—James T. Mcintyre, Jr., Director of the Office of Management and Budget.
The President announced that he has designated Michael J. Calhoun as Vice Chairman of the United States International Trade Commission. Calhoun has been a member of the Commission since 1979.
June 18
The President met at the White House with:
—Dr. Brzezinski;
—Mr. Moore;
—Vice President Walter F. Mondale, Secretary of State Edmund S. Muskie, Secretary of Defense Harold Brown, Deputy Secretary of State Warren M. Christopher, and Dr. Brzezinski;
—Vice President Mondale.
