Emergency Board To Investigate an Airline Labor Dispute Appointment of One Member and Announce- ment of Extension of the Deadline for the Board's Report.

The President today announced the appointment of a new member of the Wien Air Alaska emergency board, and an extension of the time within which the board must report on the dispute.

The President appointed Laurence Seibel, a Washington attorney and labor dispute arbitrator, to replace John Gentry, who resigned from the board. Paul Guthrie, already a member of the board, will replace Gentry as Chairman.

The deadline for the board's report is extended from December 2, 1978, to January 15, 1979.
