Executive Order 5024—Authorizing the Appointment of Carrie C. Anderson Without Regard to Civil Service Rules
Mrs. Carrie C. Anderson may be appointed to a clerical position in the General Accounting Office without regard to the civil service rules.
Mrs. Anderson is the widow of John L. Anderson, who at the time of his death October 6, 1928, was chief of an audit section in the General Accounting Office. This order is issued upon the recommendation of the Comptroller General, who states that Mr. Anderson had for more than thirty-live years rendered exceptionally efficient and valuable services in the auditing offices of the Government. Mrs. Anderson is without adequate means of support.
The Civil Service Commission cannot concur, its recommendations for waivers of the rules being limited to those cases where the needs of the service cannot be met under the procedure under the rules.
For charity.
