Executive Order 5101—Approving Recommendation for Appointment of Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Porterfield Without Regard to Civil Service Rules
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Porterfield may be appointed as operative in the Bureau of Engraving and Printing of the Treasury Department without regard to civil service rules.
This order is recommended by the Secretary of the Treasury, who states that Mrs. Porterfield is the widow of Mr. James Porterfield, who served as a plate printer in the Bureau of Engraving and Printing for more than sixteen years. He died March 27, 1929, leaving his widow and two daughters without sufficient means of support.
