Executive Order 5594—Designating Honorable Pedro de Aldrey to Perform Temporarily the Duties of the Judge of the District Court of the United States for Porto Rico
Whereas it appearing that the Honorable Ira It. Wells, Judge of the District Court of the United States for Porto Rico, will be absent from his district at certain periods during the present calendar year:
Now, Therefore, in pursuance of the authority vested in me by section 41 of the act of March 2, 1917 (39 Stat. 966) to provide a civil government for Porto Rico, and for other purposes, it is hereby ordered that the Honorable Pedro de Aldrey, Associate Justice of the Porto Rico Supreme Court, be, and he is hereby, designated, authorized, and empowered to perform the duties of the office of Judge of the District Court of the United States for Porto Rico, and to sign all necessary papers and records as the acting judge of said court, during the absence of the judge thereof, and until such absence is removed.
