Executive Order 6571—Authorizing the Relief of Certain Medical and Dental Officers of the Navy from Duty with the Civilian Conservation Corps

January 23, 1934

Whereas certain naval medical and dental officers were attached to the War Department for duty with the Civilian Conservation Corps by Executive Orders Nos. 6131-A and 6148, dated May 13, 1933, and May 31, 1933, respectively; and

Whereas there now exists a shortage of medical and dental officers available for service with the Navy on account of renewed recruiting for the Navy and the reopening of certain naval activities;

Now, Therefore, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the act of March 31, 1933 (Public, No. 5, 73d Congress), it is hereby ordered that any or all of the said naval medical and dental officers attached to the War Department for duty with the Civilian Conservation Corps may, upon request of the Secretary of the Navy, be relieved of such attachment and duty by the Secretary of War whenever they can be suitably replaced or their services in connection with such attachment and duty are no longer required.
