Executive Order 8231—Exemption of Edward M. Weeks From Compulsory Retirement for Age

August 31, 1939

Whereas, in my judgment, the public interest requires that Edward M. Weeks, letter engraver, Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Treasury Department, who was exempted from compulsory retirement for age for periods totaling three years by Executive Orders No. 7413 of July 10, 1936, No. 7635 of June 16, 1937, and No. 7945 of August 4, 1938, be further exempted from such compulsory retirement for a period of six months.

Now, Therefore, by virtue of and pursuant to the authority vested in me by section 204 of the act of June 30, 1932, 47 Stat. 382, 404 (U.S.C., title 5, sec. 715a), I hereby further exempt the said Edward M. Weeks from compulsory retirement for age for a period of six months ending February 29, 1940.
