Executive Order 8285—Authorizing the Appointment of George K. Briggs to the Position of Executive Assistant to the Director of the Bureau of Marine Inspection and Navigation of the Department of Commerce Without Regard to the Civil Service Rules
By virtue of the authority vested in me by the provisions of paragraph Eighth, subdivision SECOND, section 2 of the Civil Service Act (22 Stat. 403, 404), it is hereby ordered that George K. Briggs may be appointed to the position of Executive Assistant to the Director of the Bureau of Marine Inspection and Navigation of the Department of Commerce without compliance with the requirements of the Civil Service Rules and without being accorded a classified status.
