Executive Order 8606-A—Amendment of Basic Rate of Exchange for Luxemburg Prescribed by Section 4 of Executive Order No. 7972 of September 15, 1938, as Amended
By virtue of the authority vested in me by the act of March 26, 1934, 48 Stat. 466, the list of basic rates of exchange established by section 4 of Executive Order No. 7972 of September 15, 1938, as amended, prescribing regulations for payment of losses sustained by officers, enlisted men, and employees of the United States in foreign countries on account of appreciation of foreign currencies in their relation to the American dollar, is hereby amended, effective November 1, 1940, to provide that the monetary unit for Luxemburg shall be the reichsmark and the basic rate of exchange shall be 23.80.
