Executive Order 9287—Transferring Certain Functions From the Council of National Defense to the Secretary of the Interior
By virtue of the authority vested in me by Title I of the First War Powers Act, 1941, approved December 18, 1941 (55 Stat. 838), it is ordered that all of the functions, duties, and powers vested in the Council of National Defense by section 8 of the Federal Explosives Act of October 6, 1917 (40 Stat. 385), as amended by the act of December 26, 1941 (55 Stat. 863), be, and they are hereby, transferred to and vested in the Secretary of the Interior, to be exercised by him or by such officers or employees of the Department of the Interior as he shall from time to time designate.
