Federal Home Loan Bank Board Nomination of John H. Dalton To Be a Member.

The President today announced his intention to nominate John H. Dalton as a member of the Federal Home Loan Bank Board. He would replace Anita Miller, who has resigned.

Dalton is former President of the Government National Mortgage Association and was national treasurer of the Carter/ Mondale Presidential Committee from March to November 1979.

He was born December 13, 1941, in New Orleans, La. He received a B.S. from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1964 and an M.B.A. from Wharton School of Finance and Commerce at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dalton served in the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1969 in the nuclear submarine program. From 1971 to 1977, he was an account executive with the Dallas, Tex., firm of Goldman, Sachs & Co., working with institutions and individuals in the management of their equity and fixed income investments. He was President of the Government National Mortgage Association from 1977 until last March.
