FLOTUS Pool Report #2 - Remarks at Waukesha County Expo Center The motorcade arrived at the Waukesha County Expo Center at approximately 2:00 p.m. The First Lady arrived at the event and walked in with U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin and County Board Chairwoman Marcelia Nicholson. Around 100 attendees were present. Programming before Biden's remarks included Secretary of State Sarah Godlewski and Superintendent of Public Instruction Jill Underly. Her remarks were focused on abortion and health care, saying that electing former President Donald Trump would threaten access to both. She said Trump is considering a national abortion ban and has taken credit for enabling state abortion bans. "We are the first generation ... in half a century to give our daughters a country with fewer rights than we all had," Biden said. "Women put Joe Biden in the White House and women are going to do it again." Biden also began her remarks by describing her and POTUS' first date and "five proposals." Before FLOTUS spoke, Sen. Baldwin called Wisconsin "the battleground state in our country this year." She called out her Republican opponent, Eric Hovde, a "multimillionaire California bank owner." "We have our work cut out for us, if we're going to defeat him and hold onto the seat. The stakes of our fight are higher than ever," Baldwin said. "We have to fight for our right to reproductive freedom, a fight that continues to this day." Following remarks, Biden met with supporters for photos. The motorcade departed at 3:15 p.m. |
