CHARLESTON, S.C. — Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has earned the title of "Comrade of the Week" for his role in passing the absurdly named Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) one year ago.

At the White House's one-year birthday bash this week, Schumer touted the bill as "the largest climate investment in U.S. history." It's also an investment in China's economy, but that important fact never made it into his speech.

Yes, Schumer's "climate investment" pours billions of dollars into electric vehicles, but he doesn't tell you that America struggles to make electric vehicles without China's help. In addition to letting government control our economy, the legislation makes Americans even more dependent on a China-dominated supply chain to make electric vehicles.

Nor does the IRA actually reduce inflation—even liberal economists admit as much. As mortgage rates hit their highest level in more than 20 years and gas prices continue to rise, it looks like Schumer is stealing a page from Communist China's propaganda playbook.
