Haley Campaign Press Release - Haley: Bidenomics Makes Housing Unaffordable

CHARLESTON, S.C. – With mortgage rates rising to the highest level in 23 years, presidential candidate Nikki Haley denounced Bidenomics as unaffordable and touted her Freedom Plan as the best solution to give hardworking Americans relief and grow the economy.

The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 7.31% for this week. To make matters worse, these rising rates have coincided with rising home prices. A CBS News report yesterday shows that homes are unaffordable in 99% of the country for the average American.

"Bidenomics is crushing America's middle class," Nikki Haley said. "Biden's massive spending fueled inflation to record-breaking levels. Today, the cost of groceries, gas, cars, and homes are making everyday life unaffordable. My Freedom Plan will cut taxes for the middle class and tackle Washington's spending and debt crisis. Bidenomics is socialism. We need freedom."

Last week, Haley unveiled her Freedom Plan in an economic speech in Manchester, N.H. Her plan will reverse the damage wrought by Bidenomics and revive America's middle class. Her plan called for:

• Cutting middle-class taxes

• Eliminating the federal gas and diesel tax

• Making small business tax relief permanent

• Ending taxpayer bailouts for special interests

• Vetoing any budget that doesn't take us back to pre-COVID levels

• No budget, no pay

• Placing a limit on federal spending linked to the growth of the economy

• Eliminating Biden's green energy subsidies

• Implementing reforms to save Social Security and Medicare for future generations

• Reducing federal control over our lives
