Haley Campaign Press Release - Haley Calls For Immediate Action to Support Israel, Impede Iran

CHARLESTON, S.C. — Presidential candidate Nikki Haley called for immediate action to support Israel in its ongoing war with Hamas and impede Iran's terrorist tentacles throughout the Middle East. She called for the following:

• Provide Israel with all arms and intelligence it needs to defend itself and destroy the terrorists in its midst.

• Place all regional governments, particularly the government of Lebanon, on notice that they must not allow the use of their territory to engage in this battle.

• End American taxpayer support for all Palestinian entities or United Nations-backed entities that side with Hamas or fail to denounce antisemitic activity.

• Freeze Iranian access to the $6 billion in Qatari banks and send that money to Israel instead. Reimpose and enforce sanctions on Iran and on purchasers of Iranian oil.

"Saturday's terrorist massacre in Israel, murdering hundreds of innocent Israelis and at least nine innocent Americans, is another moment of moral clarity," Haley said.

"The fanatic Hamas terrorist group must be destroyed. But Hamas is only a small symptom of a larger disease. Iran, Russia, and China are in league together, attacking Americans, American allies, and American values. This is a battle between the civilized world and barbarians. America must stand up for our citizens, our values, and our friends.

"Today, many are rallying to Israel's side, as they should. But history has taught us that such support is often short-lived. There will be tough days and weeks ahead. Our commitment to Israel must not waver. It is central to our own security and to who we are as a country."

• Iran: As UN ambassador, Nikki Haley was one of the most vocal advocates for leaving the Iran deal. Haley was credited with being "the Iran whisperer" in the administration.

• Hamas: Haley stood up for Israel's right to defend itself against Hamas terrorists. She introduced a United Nations Security Council resolution condemning Hamas. For the first time ever, the resolution received a majority of support in the UN General Assembly.

• UN Human Rights Council: Haley led the charge to withdraw the U.S. from the corrupt and anti-Israel UN Human Rights Council.

• UNRWA: Haley led the fight to cut aid to the corrupt UN entity known as the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) whose funds have been used to fuel Palestinian hatred of Israel. Hamas has repeatedly hid weapons and weapon-smuggling tunnels underneath UNRWA facilities.
