Haley Campaign Press Release - ICYMI: Haley's Momentum Continues... Even Over Thanksgiving

November 27, 2023

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Thanksgiving holiday didn't slow Nikki Haley's momentum. Over the weekend, Haley picked up key endorsements and support in Iowa and New Hampshire, and she isn't stopping anytime soon.

In Iowa

Daily Nonpareil: Hanusa endorses Nikki Haley for president

Nikki Haley's experience and proven record of focused leadership, as a state legislator, governor and UN ambassador, will restore our country and lift all Americans. We need a leader who believes that our nation's best days are still ahead of us. Nikki Haley is that leader, and I am proud and honored to support her for president of the United States.

Marlys Popma was an undecided voter when she arrived for a town hall meeting last week at DMACC Newton Campus. That all changed when she met Nikki Haley.

In a video posted by Haley's campaign, Popma — who is resident of Kellogg and a former executive director of the Republican Party of Iowa — said on Nov. 17 she is no longer an undecided voter and "wholeheartedly" supports the former South Carolina governor and former United Nations ambassador.

Des Moines Register: Nikki Haley is attracting support from independent voters.

Barbara Arthur was at the same event. The 73-year-old from Oakland Acres is a Republican who said before the event that she was undecided and was considering Trump, DeSantis and Haley. Afterward, Arthur made a confession.

"I never told you this when you were first talking to me," she said. "But I was leaning toward Trump, and she's kind of flipped me. She's a very good leader."

In New Hampshire

The Conway Daily Sun: New Hampshire warms up to Nikki Haley

Actually, Haley — newly crowned as the principal alternative to Donald Trump in New Hampshire, which in less than two months holds the first primary of the 2024 campaign season — has been greeted with great warmth in the Granite State: steadily growing poll numbers. Increased attention. And, here in Hooksett, a crowd so big that an overflow of voters was ushered behind the barn to listen on loudspeakers.

New Hampshire state Rep. Stephen Pearson said he was impressed by Haley's performance at the first GOP debate, but wanted to hear her off the debate stage. By the end of the town hall, he'd decided to endorse her.

Pearson said he appreciated Haley's efforts to share "hard truths" – things people need to hear even if they may not like it. And as a lieutenant in the Manchester Fire Department, he appreciated her comments on fentanyl, which has made the ongoing opioid epidemic in the city worse.
