Haley Campaign Press Release - NEW VIDEO: Haley's Ironclad Support for Israel

CHARLESTON, S.C. — Ahead of Nikki Haley's address to the Republican Jewish Coalition Annual Leadership Summit, the Nikki Haley for President campaign released a new video highlighting her strong record of standing up for Israel.

As governor of South Carolina, Haley signed the first anti-BDS legislation in the country. As UN ambassador, she declared "a new day for Israel at the United Nations" and vowed that "the days of Israel bashing are over." When America moved its embassy to Jerusalem, Haley proudly issued the first American veto in six years at the UN Security Council, defending the United States' sovereign right to put our embassy wherever we choose.

Background

• As president, Haley vows to use the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance definition of antisemitism which includes "denying the Jewish people their right to self-determination."

• Haley pledges to remove a college or university's tax exempt status if it fails to combat antisemitism.

• Following the October 7 massacre, Haley called on Prime Minister Netanyahu to "finish them," in regards to the Hamas terrrorists.

• As UN ambassador, Haley went to war with State Department officials over her push to cut aid to the corrupt UN entity known as the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA). UNRWA funds have repeatedly been used to fuel Palestinian violence in the West Bank and Gaza.

• Haley was one of the few key administration officials pushing to move the U.S. embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked Ambassador Haley specifically for moving the embassy.

• Haley pushed to leave the Iran deal, while establishment types like Rex Tillerson and James Mattis advised against leaving. Known as the "Iran whisperer" in the administration, Haley is credited with laying the policy foundation for exiting the deal.

• Haley led the charge to withdraw the U.S. from the UN Human Rights Council, a notoriously anti-Israel entity.

• Haley fought the UN's BDS blacklist. Haley joined her German and British counterparts in warning of a mass resignation if the blacklist was implemented.

• Nikki Haley called out Hezbollah's arms buildup in southern Lebanon and Iran's role in funding the buildup she led in changing the UNIFIL mandate.

• Haley criticized UNESCO's anti-Israel bias and led the U.S. withdrawal from UNESCO.

• In December 2018, Haley introduced a resolution condemning Hamas and labeling Hamas a terrorist organization. For the first time ever, the General Assembly voted on the resolution, putting every member on the record for or against Hamas. The resolution received a majority of support in the General Assembly, but the GA president changed the rules at the last minute to require a two-thirds majority.
