ICYMI: Congressional Republicans Take Credit for Projects Funded by President Biden's CHIPS and Science Act, Which They Voted Against
Just over a year ago, President Biden signed the CHIPS and Science Act into law, which invests over $50 billion in the production of U.S. semiconductor chips, research, and American jobs. The law also funds the Tech Hubs program, which aims to establish centers of innovation that will help drive American competitiveness. Last month, President Biden announced 31 communities across the country have been designated as Tech Hubs, and while the majority of Republicans in Congress voted against the CHIPS and Science Act, many are shamelessly trying to receive praise for a bill that they did not vote for. While these Republicans in Congress continue to take undue credit for these programs, the Biden-Harris Administration will continue to proudly support the CHIPS and Science Act, which is strengthening our economy and making us more competitive on the international stage.

Several Republicans who voted against the CHIPS and Science Act are taking credit for the bill's support for tech hubs, many of which are devoted to energy and environmental issues. The law was one of the major accomplishments of President Joe Biden's first two years. And as they did with the Inflation Reduction Act and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, GOP lawmakers who opposed the legislation are now cheering its benefits.
