ICYMI: FEMA Administrator Criswell Highlights Recovery Efforts in North Carolina

October 21, 2024

On the ground in North Carolina this morning, FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell highlighted on MSNBC's Morning Joe the Biden-Harris Administration's ongoing efforts to help North Carolina communities recover and rebuild following Hurricane Helene. With "over $130 million across the state of North Carolina [having gone] directly to people," Administrator Criswell noted that the road to rebuilding is "well underway" and that "we are starting to see real progress in communities." She also condemned hurricane-related misinformation, which she noted hurts communities in their recovery efforts.

Her interview comes as the Administration announced new actions on recovery efforts in North Carolina, including that the Federal government will create a brand-new program and hire Community Liaisons to assist impacted communities with their recovery and rebuilding efforts.
