The President today announced that he will nominate N. Jerold Cohen, of Atlanta, Ga., to be Chief Counsel of the Internal Revenue Service in the Department of the Treasury. He would replace Stuart Seigel, resigned. Cohen is with the Atlanta law firm of Sutherland, Asbill & Brennan.
He was born June 13, 1933, in Pine Bluff, Ark. He received a B.B.A. from Tulane University in 1957 and an LL.B. from Harvard Law School in 1961.
Cohen has been with Sutherland, Asbill & Brennan since 1961. He is an adjunct professor at Emory University School of Law and serves as chairman of the Atlanta Community Relations Commission.
