International Bank for Reconstruction and Development Nomination of David S. King To Be U.S. Alternate Executive Director.

The President today announced that he will nominate David S. King, of Kensington, Md., to be U.S. Alternate Executive Director of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. He would replace William Dixon, resigned.

King has been a partner in the Washington law firm of Williams and King since 1970, specializing in international trade, and is a former U.S. Representative from Utah.

He was born June 20, 1917, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He received a B.A. from the University of Utah in 1937 and a J.D. from Georgetown College of Law in 1942.

From 1942 to 1943, King was law clerk to Justice Harold M. Stephens of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia. From 1943 to 1944, he was Counsel to the Office of Price Administration, and from 1944 to 1947, he was counsel to the Utah State Tax Commission.

From 1947 to 1959, King was a partner in the Salt Lake City law firm of King & Anderson. He represented the Second District of Utah from 1959 to 1962 and from 1964 to 1966. In 1963 and 1964, he practiced law in Salt Lake City, specializing in the organization of national banks.

From 1967 to 1969, King was U.S. Ambassador to the Malagasy Republic and to Mauritius.

He is chairman of the Federal Bar Association Committee on International Resources.
