Media Advisory: Vice President Kamala Harris to Chair U.S. National Space Council Meeting
On Wednesday, December 20, Vice President Kamala Harris will Chair a meeting of the U.S. National Space Council. This meeting in Washington, D.C. is the Council's third to be held during the Biden-Harris Administration and will focus on international partnerships.
During the second meeting of the National Space Council, the Vice President announced commitments from the U.S. government, private sector companies, education and training providers, and philanthropic organizations to support space-related STEM initiatives to inspire, prepare, and employ the next generation of the space workforce. She also highlighted the importance of commercial and international partnerships for space exploration. The National Space Council's mission is to preserve and advance the United States' leadership in space, and to make sure that the use of space continues to improve the lives of people on Earth.
