The President today announced that he will appoint Robert J. McKenna, of Newport, R.I., to be a member of the National Commission on Student Financial Assistance.
McKenna is an associate professor of political science and director of college and community relations at the Newport College. He is a Rhode Island State senator and serves on the Senate Health, Education and Welfare Committee. McKenna was selected Outstanding Educator in America in 1970 and is active in postsecondary education matters.
