National Labor Relations Board Nomination of John H. Fanning To Be a Member.

The President today announced that he will nominate John H. Fanning, of Rhode Island, for reappointment as a member of the National Labor Relations Board for a 5-year term. He indicated that, on confirmation, Fanning would be redesignated Chairman of the NLRB.

Fanning, 61, has been a member of the NLRB since 1957, when he was appointed to the Board by President Eisenhower. His current term would have expired in December 1977. He was designated Chairman by President Carter on April 14, 1977.
