Nomination of Evan Griffith Galbraith To Be a Member of the Board of Directors of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation

The President today announced his intention to nominate Evan Griffith Galbraith to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, U.S. International Development Cooperation Agency, for a term expiring December 17, 1987. This is a new position.

Mr. Galbraith was the United States Ambassador to France in 1981-1985. Previously, he was managing director of Dillon, Read & Co.; chairman of Dillon Read Overseas Co. in London in 1975-1980; managing director and chairman of Bankers Trust International in London in 1969-1975; an independent financial consultant in New York City in 1969; vice president of Morgan Guaranty Trust Co. in 1968-1969; and administrator and director of Morgan and Cie, Paris, France, in 1963-1968.

He graduated from Yale University (B.A., 1950) and Harvard Law School (LL.B., 1953). He is married, has four children, and resides in Greenwich, CT. He was born June 2, 1928, in Toledo, OH.
