Office of Personnel Management Nomination of J. Jackson Walter To Be Director of the Office of Government Ethics.
The President today announced that he will nominate J. Jackson Walter, of Tallahassee, Fla., to be Director of the Office of Government Ethics, a new position.
Walter is currently at the Office of Government Ethics and was previously assistant secretary of the Florida Department of Labor and Employment Security.
He was born November 6, 1940, in Abington, Pa. He received an A.B. from Amherst College in 1962 and an LL.B. from Yale Law School in 1966.
From 1970 to 1976, Walter practiced law, concentrating on land development and regulatory matters. From 1976 to 1978, he was executive director of the Florida Department of Business Regulation. From 1978 to 1979, he was secretary of that department.
