In town pool report 2

The President took 4 questions as he departed for Andrews. Asked if he would attend a Trump inauguration, he responded, "I have good manners not like him." He was reminded he had called Trump a danger to American security and asked if that was lowering the temperature of political rhetoric. "That's a statement of fact."

Asked about the Ukrainian incursion into Russia he said, "I'd rather not comment on that publicly." It was hard for the pool to hear the final question about if vice president Harris is more progressive. Check the transcript, but he said they had worked together on issues and "made great progress economically." He added, "no one calls what we did on infrastructure progressive."

He came out of the White House at 12:23. Lift off was 12:27.

Because of the ongoing issues the press wi-fi remains down. That same issue has knocked out the live stream of the AF 1 gaggle. When it is over there will be a link to see it on you tube.

Finally, an important milestone was marked at the White House today -- Karine Jean-Pierre's birthday. Asked how she is celebrating, she said, "I'm flying on Air Force One.," and, it should be added going to New Orleans never a bad place to celebrate anything.

Thanks to Toby Capion of EWTN we have a fuller quote when the President was asked about calling Trump a danger to American security. He responded, "that's just a statement, That's a factual statement."

Highlights include questions on a ceasefire-hostage deal (urged all parties to come to the table on August 15) and Ukraine's incursion into Russia. (She said the US was not given a heads up and did not have any involvement.)

Out-of-town pool #5: Biden took questions/rolling

Biden took a few questions on the cancer event and the situation in the Middle East.

It was extremely difficult to hear. Working to get audible audio of his comments.

Out of town pool report #6: questions

The President responded to three - maybe four - shouted questions about Iran's threat to retaliate and what that means for ceasefire negotiations. And a question about Russia.

On the Middle East, POTUS said he saw some linkage between the ceasefire effort in Gaza and Iran's threat to retaliate.

He said he's not giving up on reaching ceasefire deal.

"It's getting harder," Biden said when asked if a ceasefire deal was becoming a more distant possibility. "I'm not giving up."

"We'll see what Iran does. We'll see what happens."

Asked if he expected Iran to hold off on a retaliatory strike if a ceasefire deal was reached, Biden said: "that's my expectation."

He also took a question about the cancer moonshot event today.

On the situation in Russia, Biden said he's spoken with his staff on a regular basis "every 4-5 hours". He said it's creating a "real dilemma."

Many thanks to fellow poolers for these notes. It was truly difficult to hear. Please check against the transcript.
