Out of Town Pool Report #1 - Biden at Beach

Good afternoon from Rehoboth Beach.

President Biden's car pulled up near a beach pathway at 1:02 PM. He got out of the car and walked toward the beach.

Pool could not immediately see Biden when he exited his car and he did not respond to shouted questions.

Pool then followed up the wooden walkway to the beach. From a distance we could see Biden sitting in a lounge chair wearing a dark baseball hat. He was not under an umbrella. First Lady Jill Biden appeared to be next to him.

Pool Report #2 - pool holding

At 1:17 PM, pool was escorted off the beach and is now holding in a van.

Out of Town Pool Report #3 - Biden Leaves Beach

President Biden got back in his car at 3:54 PM. He paused briefly before getting in and driving away.

Asked if he had any comment on the Middle East he said "not now," but suggested he might speak later after 5:30 Mass.

Asked if he was excited to campaign with the vice president, he said "I am."

Pool Report #4 - Rolling

President Biden's motorcade was rolling from his house at 5:35 PM.

Pool joined the motorcade on the main street near Biden's house and did not see him enter his vehicle.

Out of Town Pool Report #5 - Mass

Biden's motorcade arrived at St. Edmond Church in Rehoboth at 5:42 PM. He walked in at 5:43 PM.

Out of Town Pool report #6 - Biden leaves Mass, some comments

Biden exited the church at 6:25 PM. He spoke briefly to the pool.

On ceasefire talks: "I don't have much to report." He said bodies had been discovered in Gaza and "they're identifying bodies." He said "it's time this war ended" and "I think we're on the verge of having an agreement."

Biden said he was "still optimistic" and that "people are continuing to meet." He said "We think we can close the deal, they've all said they agree on the principles."

On Trump at Arlington: "I don't want to answer because I might tell you what I think."

On campaign plans: "Memorial Day in Pittsburgh and I'm on the road from then on."

A crowd of people was gathered across the street to see him. Biden left the church at 6:29 PM and was back at his street at 6:35 PM. Pool did not see him arrive at his house.

At 6:43 PM the White House called a lid. Have a good night.

Out of Town Pool Report #9 - more of the quote on bodies in Gaza

Here is the more of the quote from Biden on bodies found in Gaza but please check against transcript because he spoke softly and was hard to make out.

"They discovered bodies in Gaza. I'm not sure the exact number….And in the meantime …They want to identify the bodies…there's a lot of speculation on who they are. I'm not at liberty to do that at this moment."
