In-Town Pool Report #5: Astros event concludes

POTUS spoke for roughly eight minutes at the Houston Astros celebration inside the East Room, concluding his remarks at 1:08 p.m.

After he spoke, Jim Crane, owner and chairman of the Astros, and Dusty Baker Jr., the team's manager, each delivered brief remarks.

Crane presented a team jersey that said Biden 46 to POTUS, who posed for photos with Crane and Baker Jr.

"Put me in, Coach! I'm ready to play," POTUS quipped as he held up the jersey.

POTUS then shook hands with members of the team and turned to give them a salute before exiting the room at 1:18 p.m.

As POTUS left, a reporter shouted a question seeking reaction to the reports of Russian and Chinese ships patrolling near Alaska. POTUS turned around and appeared to say a few words, but no one (including the reporter who shouted the question) was able to make out what he said over the band's music.
