The president started speaking in the State Dining Room at 2:41 p.m. There were two Christmas trees behind him and roughly 30 journalists in here.

He took questions from reporters following the speech and addressed topics such as prescription drug prices, Sen. Manchin, and coronavirus testing.

He walked out of the room and away from reporters at 3:11 p.m.

At 8:00 PM ET, the President, Vice President, First Lady, and Second Gentleman will celebrate the holidays in a pre-recorded PBS special, "In Performance at the White House: Spirit of the Season" hosted by Jennifer Garner, featuring performances by Andrea Bocelli, Matteo Bocelli, Virginia Bocelli, Camila Cabello, Eric Church, Jonas Brothers, Norah Jones, Pentatonix, Billy Porter, Northwell Health Nurse Choir, Voices of Service, and the United States Marine Band. This special will air on PBS and pbs.org/whitehouse.
