Pool Report 4/Remarks and Qs

President Biden started speaking at 12:43 and left the Roosevelt Room at 12:50.

He said it was "stunning" that Congress had not passed additional Ukraine aid and called for it to happen soon, accusing Republicans of "playing chicken" in talks tying Ukraine to border funding.

"I'm not prepared to walk away," Biden said, arguing that US troops could end up fighting Russian troops if Ukraine loses the war.

"We can't let Putin win," he said.

He answered three questions at the end.

Biden said "probably 50" other Democrats could beat Donald Trump next year.

He also denied interacting with his son and brother's foreign business associates, saying, "I did not. And it's just a bunch of lies. They're lies. I did not. They're lies. "

Pool Report 15/Remarks

President Biden began speaking at 5:46 in a downstairs room at the St Regis with about 60 seated guests.

The press remainded until he wrapped at 6:01.

His remarks focused on issues that he said are important to American Indian tribes such as water and land conservation, as well as taking care of veterans and improving healthcare.

Biden's remarks had many similar themes to his earlier speech at the tribal nations summit, down to his claim of being a top-scoring college athlete.

He said Donald Trump is a threat to democracy, denounced his use of the term "vermin" for opponents and suggested Trump's return would be bad for tribal groups.

Annette Bryan, council member of the Puyallup Tribe of Indians, introduced Biden.
