Out of town pool report 1: Briefing on CrowdStrike/Tel Aviv drone attack

Good morning all. Passing along from a White House official:

The President has been briefed on the CrowdStrike outage and his team is in touch with CrowdStrike and impacted entities. His team is engaged across the interagency to get sector by sector updates throughout the day and is standing by to provide assistance as needed.

The President was also briefed on the drone attack overnight in Tel Aviv.

Out of town pool 3: Wed. night motorcade travelers

Your pooler has asked the WH for updates on POTUS' Covid case and any calls or meetings he has today, and will pass along anything that comes in.

In meantime, the WH did share the names of those who accompanied the president in the motorcade from Dover to Rehoboth late Wednesday night: Annie Tomasini, Jacob Spreyer and Herbie Ziskend.

Out of town pool report 5: CrowdStrike update

Passing along from a Senior Administration Official:

President Biden will continue to receive updates on the CrowdStrike global tech outage that disrupted operations across multiple industries on Friday. The White House is in regular contact with CrowdStrike's executive leadership and tracking progress on remediating affected systems. We have offered US government support. Our understanding is that this is not a cyber attack, but rather a faulty technical update.

The White House has been convening agencies to assess impacts to the US government's operations and entities around the country. At this time, our understanding is that flight operations have resumed across the country, although some congestion remains, and 911 centers are able to receive and process calls. We are assessing impact to local hospitals, surface transportation systems, and law enforcement closely and will provide further updates as we learn more. We stand ready to provide assistance as needed.

Today the President received briefings on issues of national security and domestic importance, including those from the following senior Administration officials:

- Antony Blinken, Secretary of State and Jon Finer, Assistant to the President & Deputy National Security Advisor regarding the drone attack in Tel Aviv and other issues of national security including the CrowdStrike Outage.

- Jeff Zients, Assistant to the President & Chief of Staff regarding the tentative agreement reached between the Association of Professional Flight Attendants and American Airlines; and an economic briefing including the latest data on US industrial production and the strong state of the economy.

- Liz Sherwood-Randall, Assistant to the President & Homeland Security Advisory regarding issues of homeland security, including the CrowdStrike Outage.
