Out of town pool report 2: POTUS Middle East briefing/call with von der Leyen

Passing along from a White House official:

Today, President Biden received a briefing on developments in the Middle East from Jon Finer, Assistant to the President and Principal Deputy National Security Advisor.

President Biden also called European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen today to congratulate her on her re-election. We will release a readout of the call shortly.

This afternoon, the President received briefings from the following senior White House officials:

Jeff Zients, Assistant to the President & Chief of Staff provided a briefing on issues of domestic importance, including the state of the economy.

Liz Sherwood-Randall, Assistant to the President & Homeland Security Advisor provided a briefing on issues of homeland security, including ongoing investigations.

Per the White House, the briefings that POTUS received from senior officials today were conducted virtually.
