WH out-of-town pool report #1 rolling

Good afternoon from Rehoboth Beach, Del.

President Biden's motorcade started rolling from Gordon's Pond at 12:54 pm ET. Your pooler did not see Biden enter The Beast.

Hundreds of beach-goers and others waved at the motorcade as we drove through residential neighborhoods of Rehoboth.

I saw one handwritten sign directed at POTUS that said, "Thank you." It was held by a woman.

We are on the way to Dover, Del., where Biden will board Air Force One.

President Biden's motorcade arrived at Dover's airport at 1:41 pm after an uneventful drive.

Biden exited the beast at 1:44 pm

"Im feeling well," Biden said when asked how he's feeling.

He did not respond to shouted questions about why he dropped out of race and whether Harris can best Trump.

He boarded AF1 at 1:45 pm.

It's the first time the press has laid eyes on Biden since Wednesday night when he was first diagnosed with COVID.

Air Force One landed at Andrews at 2:18 pm ET.

Biden walked down the AF1 stairs at 2:28 pm

Biden responded to one question from reporters.

"Watch and listen," he said when asked what his message during his Wednesday night speech will be.

A reporter asked Biden why he dropped out of the election. He turned his head to the reporter and laughed, then walked to the beast.

Biden and press pool are now headed to WH by motorcade.

Biden's motorcade pulled up to the White House at 2:52 pm after an uneventful ride.

There were many spectators taking videos and waving as we went through the National Mall and then onto 15th Street.

Your pooler did not see Biden exit the beast or enter the WH at the South Lawn.
