The briefing began at 2:08 with Karine Jean-Pierre sharing a message about Kate Middleton and other announcements.

John Kirby made several announcements as well and then took questions from 2:21 to 2:37.

Jean-Pierre took questions from that point until the briefing ended at 2:54.

On behalf of the Biden-Harris campaign:

Today at the White House, President Biden was joined by former President Obama and Speaker Emerita Pelosi for a digital campaign engagement marking the anniversary of the Affordable Care Act. The recorded message will be released tomorrow as a part of the Biden-Harris National Health Care Day of Action campaign organizing call.

Pool report #7: Departure

The president departed the Oval Office at 5:00 carrying a newspaper and two phones, then strolled toward Marine One staying out of shouting distance of the press. He glanced at the phones a bit and entered the aircraft by 5:02.

Marine One took off at 5:05. Handing off to the out-of-town pool. Thank you!

Travel Pool Report #1 DANG arrival

President Biden landed at DANG at 6:03 pm on Marine One.

After he exited the helo he immediately entered a black SUV. He did not stop to talk to press. Motorcade is rolling at 6:09 pm.

Travel Pool Report #4: no shutdown

The White House sends the following statement:

"OMB has ceased shutdown preparations because there is a high degree of confidence that Congress will imminently pass the relevant appropriations and the President will sign the bill on Saturday. Because obligations of federal funds are incurred and tracked on a daily basis, agencies will not shut down and may continue their normal operations."
