He was greeted by cheers from the large crowd that has filled the main street through downtown Selma for the event.

President Biden concluded his remarks at 3:27 p.m. CST.

Mr. Biden posed for pictures with civil rights and local officials immediately following his speech.

He is expected to cross the Edmund Pettus Bridge in the coming minutes.

President Biden stepped foot on the Edmund Pettus Bridge flanked by local officials and civil rights leaders at 3:57 p.m.

Mr. Biden paused to greet those on the Bridge before taking his position in the center and locking arms with those to his left and right.

The group began the procession across the surprising steep span at 4:00 p.m. CST.

One member of the group led the crosses in spirituals as they crossed.

A large crowd filled the city block behind the President to watch the crossing.

After reviewing footage of the departure while aboard the flight, pooler noted that President Biden stumbled slightly as he ascended the staircase to board Air Force One.

Air Force One landed at Joint Base Andrews at 7:44 p.m.

President Biden exited Air Force One at 7:54 p.m. and immediately boarded Marine One.

Marine One was wheels up at 8:01 p.m.
