Travel Pool Report 3/Rolling and Q&A President Biden exited Air Force One at 1:30 and greeted a group of Pennsylvania officials, including Sen. Casey. A full list is below. We aren't sure what accounts for the slightly delayed disembarkation. He walked off the plane with a group including Maryland Gov. Moore and Rep. Barbara Lee. The entire group posed for a group photo and Biden heard and replied to a shouted question about whether he would serve all four years of a second term or hand over power to VP Kamala Harris. We aren't sure exactly what Biden replied due to the distance, but we believe he made a joking retort inquiring whether his questioner had fallen on their head. Please check video for a potential exact quote. The Beast was parked unusually close to the stairs, fellow poolers noted, and the pool was whisked to vans before he entered the vehicle. The motorcade was rolling at 1:39 to the first event in Philadelphia. Apologies for the delayed pool report, I had internet issues. The White House's list of greeters on the tarmac, some of whom were aboard AF1: Senator Bob Casey (PA) |

Pool Report 10/Restaurant Event President Biden began greeting guests at the restaurant, commonly known simply as South and also a jazz bar, at 3:42. Pennsylvania's lieutenant governor Austin Davis introduced Biden saying "the stakes of this election are just too damn high." Nevada Rep. Horsford spoke next saying "this election is about us," in reference to black voters, and mentioned a variety of issues including "the attacks on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion." Maryland Gov. Moore said "if you have the right partner, nothing is impossible." Lynette Sutton, managing partner of Girl Concrete, spoke next about diversifying the building trades. Biden began speaking at 3:57. "We're rebuilding a 60 zillion dollar bridge in Baltimore," Biden said to Moore. He said he's encouraged more black and Hispanic employment and emphasized the importance of small businesses. Biden then talked about Scranton and Claymont, Del., struggling economically in the past. "I got involved as a kid in the Civil Rights Movement," he then said, repeating himself later and specifying he got involved with the movement in 1969. His remarks ended at 4:14. Biden seemed to hear but didn't appear to respond to a shouted question about whether he will attend the Ukraine peace conference next month in Switzerland, as President Zelensky has requested. |
