Out-of-town pool report #3 — Arrival downtown

The motorcade arrived at Broad Street in downtown Nantucket at 2:10 p.m. after an uneventful drive past groups of people standing by the side of the road to watch.

The pool has not seen POTUS and is holding on the bus. Will update when we have more information.

From the White House: "The President and First Lady are having lunch at the Brotherhood of Thieves with their daughter Ashley, their son Hunter and his wife Melissa, and their grandson Beau."

The pool is continuing to hold.

Out-of-town pool report #5 — Nantucket Bookworks

At 3:15 p.m., POTUS and FLOTUS walked out of Brotherhood of Thieves and into Nantucket Bookworks next door. POTUS is wearing a blue jacket, blue pants and a blue baseball cap. He did not respond to a shouted question about what he ate for lunch.

Hunter Biden, Baby Beau, Ashley Biden and Melissa Cohen Biden all entered the bookstore just before POTUS and FLOTUS.

Out-of-town pool report #6 — Walking through downtown

POTUS and his family exited Nantucket Bookworks at 3:33 p.m. POTUS was carrying the book, "The Hundred Years' War on Palestine" by Rashid Khalidi, according to a photo taken by a fellow pool member.

FLOTUS and Baby Beau were both carrying what looked like bookstore-branded tote bags over their shoulders.

Shortly before leaving, Hunter hugged someone inside the store.

Outside the bookstore, a reporter asked POTUS from across the street for any reaction to the reported bomb threats against lawmakers and swatting against Trump cabinet nominees. POTUS responded: "We're working that hard, the FBI."

He and his family then continued to walk down Broad Street as pedestrians cheered and called out to him. He stopped in front of Jared Coffin House to briefly interact with some of those people. The pool was too far away to hear anything.

The Bidens then turned onto Centre Street and walked southbound as people lined up on the sidewalks greeted them. POTUS and family entered Samuel Owen Gallery -- an art gallery -- around 3:37 p.m. and exited at 3:41 p.m.

Outside another business, POTUS briefly picked up a small black dog before continuing to walk with Hunter, Melissa and Baby Beau.

They then stopped in the home goods store Centre Pointe around 3:48 p.m. and left at 3:51 p.m. Someone yelled to POTUS, "Joe! We love you!" He gave a thumbs up and said, "Thank you."

As POTUS continued to walk, a reporter asked if he expected to talk to Trump again during the transition. POTUS responded, "I expect so."

The family then turned onto India Street and stopped in the leather goods shop Craftmasters of Nantucket. Your pooler saw FLOTUS, who split off from POTUS earlier, turn down Federal Street.

More TK.

Out-of-town pool report #7 — Tree lighting

POTUS exited Craftmasters of Nantucket with family at 4:07 p.m. and walked to the town square for the Christmas tree lighting. Crowd members cheered as the Bidens approached.

The family is positioned behind a metal barrier on Centre Street, between Nantucket United Methodist Church and Congdon & Coleman Real Estate. Hunter, Melissa, Ashley and Baby Beau are with POTUS.

At 4:15, the town crier began the ceremony.

Out-of-town pool report #8 — More from the tree lighting

FLOTUS, wearing a long purple jacket, joined her family at the tree lighting at 4:17 p.m. as someone read a Christmas children's book aloud. Some in the crowd are wearing reindeer-antler headbands or plastic Christmas lights around their necks.

A representative of the local chamber of commerce thanked the Bidens for making Nantucket part of their holiday tradition for decades, drawing applause.

The tree lit up in colored lights at 4:26 p.m. after a short countdown. The crowd clapped, including the Bidens, before a small children's choir performed "Joy to the World," "The First Noel" and other carols. The Bidens joined the rest of the crowd in applause.

The ceremony ended at 4:44 p.m. POTUS then walked into the square, stepped onto the raised platform and briefly greeted the choir members. The town crier took a photo of him with the group.

The Bidens then continued crossing the street and entered Murray's Toggery Shop, a clothing store, at about 4:48 p.m.

Out-of-town pool report #9 — Motorcade rolling

POTUS walked out of Murray's Toggery at about 5:10 p.m. and got into his SUV. Much of the crowd from the tree lighting was still gathered outside as he walked by.

Motorcade is rolling at 5:16 p.m.

Out-of-town pool report #10 — Home and lid

The motorcade arrived at the home where the Bidens are staying at 5:32 p.m., and the White House called a travel/photo lid.

Thanks to my fellow pooler Emily Goodin of The Daily Mail for her help today.
