In-Town Pool Report #1 - Call w/ Gov. Lee

From the WH press office:

Yesterday evening, President Biden spoke by phone with Governor Bill Lee regarding the ongoing response and recovery efforts in Tennessee, and offered further support as needed. During the call, the President made clear that we will be there for the people of Tennessee as long as it takes.

In town pool report 3 -- Briefing moved up

This came in at 1:15pm from the press office:

Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre will be joined by National Economic Advisor Lael Brainard for today's press briefing.

The briefing will be at 1:15pm.

POTUS arrived at briefing room at 2:06pm

In-Town Pool Report 6 — POTUS leaves briefing

POTUS left at 2:21pm after touting economic numbers and taking questions from reporters

Before leaving he was asked if he was reconsidering dropping out of the race.

He turned around from the sliding door and jokingly said with a big grin that he was getting back in the race.

Asked Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre to select the reporters he took questions from.

On Israel's plans and whether they are heeding U.S. advice:

"Our teams are in contact 12-hours a day."

Asked if he was confident there would be a free & fair election and whether it will be peaceful. He said he was confident it will be free and fair but

"I dont know whether it will be peaceful," cited former President Trump's comments

Asked about VP Harris's role working on current crises (storms, middle east)

"Her staff is interlocked with mine"

"This afternoon, the President recorded an interview with Simon Sinek for his podcast "A Bit of Optimism." The episode will air later this month."
