He touted the Federal Reserve's interest rate cut yesterday, but said there is "more work to do."

President Biden said that he has not spoken to Federal Reserve Chair Powell since he became president.

Pool arrived at the Convention Center at 7:40pm ET after an uneventful ride. Some spectators were filming as the motorcade passed by.

Your pooler did not see the president enter the Convention Center. As we arrived, Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto was being introduced.

The gala is being held in a large event space in the Convention Center. It’s a bustling event, with several attendees, wearing tuxedos and long dresses, chatting at their tables or standing.

President Biden concluded his remarks at 8:52pm. He walked off the stage to the song, Despacito.

"We've got to stop saying that immigrants are poisoning the blood of America. They are the blood of America," President Biden said to applause.

"Together, we're making the most significant investment in the Latino community," he said, but added there's more work to be done, including passing "comprehensive immigration reform."

He also frequently invoked former President Trump -- "We cannot go down that road .. attacking voting rights, banning choice nationwide, already eliminating affirmative action," Biden said of his predecessor.
