In-town pool report #1 -- gathering for departure

?Good morning from the White House where the pool has received COVID-19 tests and is gathering in the vans for departure to an unknown destination on a beautiful Sunday morning.

There is a Virginia state trooper in position to help lead the motorcade.

In-town pool report #2 -- on the move

?Pool spotted the president exiting the White House and getting into an SUV at 10:02 a.m., wearing a red hat and blue jacket.

The motorcade started rolling at about 10:04 a.m.

In-town pool report #3 -- Sterling

?The motorcade arrived at Trump National in Sterling, Va., at 10:44 a.m.

Lots of protesters were gathered outside, some with Biden-Harris signs in addition to an array of anti-Trump signs.

We are now holding outside a familiar nearby Italian restaurant.

In-town pool report #4 -- Japan call

Today, President Donald J. Trump spoke with Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga of Japan. The President congratulated the Prime Minister on securing overwhelming majorities in both his Liberal Democratic Party's presidential election and in both houses of the Japanese Diet in his subsequent election as Prime Minister. The two leaders discussed the importance of pursuing our shared vision of a free and open Indo-Pacific, continuing to strengthen the United States-Japan Alliance, and working together to strengthen the global economy.

In-town pool report #5 -- holding at Trump National parking lot

?The pool was waiting to rejoin the motorcade outside of Trump National. There's a large group of demonstrators outside on both sides of the street, with supporters and opponents of President Trump.

There are Biden flags and Trump flags. One of the more vocal people with a Keep America Great hat was shouting "the virus is a hoax" and there were other insults directed toward the press pool.

The pool is now back in the vans and holding in the Trump National parking lot. We are holding.

In-town pool report #5a -- waiting in the vans

?Shortly after pool report #5 sent, the pool vans rolled again and returned to the street outside Trump National at 3:27 p.m.

We are now at a location well away from the crowd of protesters, and at a spot where your print pooler has very limited cell service.

In-town pool report #6 -- leaving Trump National

?The pool vans rejoined the motorcade at 4:08 p.m. to depart Trump National.
