President Bush Will Nominate One and Appoint One Individual to Serve in His Administration
President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate one individual and his intention to appoint one individual to serve in his administration.
The President intends to nominate Mark W. Everson to be Deputy Director for Management of the Office of Management and Budget. Everson is presently Controller of the Office of Federal Financial Management in the Office of Management and Budget. Before joining OMB, Everson was the Group Vice President for Finance for Sky Chefs in Arlington, Texas. From 1988 to 1998, he held several positions with the Pechiney Group including Senior Vice President and Controller in Paris, France. From 1982 to 1988, Everson served as Executive Commissioner and then Deputy Commissioner of the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service and previously served at the Department of Justice and the U.S. Information Agency. He is a graduate of Yale University and received a Master's degree in accounting from New York University.
The President intends to appoint Rebecca Lent of California to be United States Commissioner of the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission. Lent is currently the Southwest Regional Administrator of the National Marine Fisheries Service.
